Since 2007, Karina Bergmans' sculptural project TEXT-ING has taken a variety of forms: public interventions, a pangram, text messages, and general pillow play. In a time when text messaging is a direct and commonplace form of instant communication, TEXT-ING is a much-appreciated diversion from our normal relationship with text. The word supercalifragilisticexpialidocious was popularized by a favorite childhood movie through a memorable song. As a sitespecific installation in a performing arts venue, this 34-letter word brings a visual cacophony to an artistically inclined audience.

As a multi-disciplinary artist, Karina Bergmans works in the mediums of fiber art, sculpture, and installation. What unifies her diverse artistic practice is her use of reclaimed fiber and materials. By combining texture with colour, her work engages our senses and stimulates our imagination.
