Exhibition Information
For his installation in the Project Room Michael made an interactive site-specific spectacle invoking the synchronized light and sound found in nightclubs, karaoke bars and stage sets, and inspired by television's End of Broadcast Signal. The viewer is forced to walk on to a stage when s/he enters the pitch-black exhibition space; and trigger the sound and stage lights from the other end of the room to come on. The viewer is caught off-guard by the colour bars projected on to them and the blaring sound from the television's End of Broadcast Signal.
artist bio
Mike Jones received his BFA from ACAD in 2003. He has exhibited in ArtCity and in the Mountain Standard Time Festival in Calgary and is currently completing his graduate studies at Slade School of Fine Art in London, UK.
