Exhibition Information
To what extent can the modern-day girl honestly look at the subject of romance without the nagging cynicism of post modernism biting at her ankles? In a world where the ‘ideal’ romance is specifically illustrated through Hollywood’s silver screen icons, how do young women locate their own ‘real’ romantic needs? Lindsay's imagery is derived from ‘poetic’ moments in her surroundings, the instant before a kiss, a flock of birds taking flight, the beginning stages of a dark storm. The installation consists of delicate drawings on pages of antique poetry books pinned behind white sheer curtains and diffused lightening.
