Exhibition Information
Joyce Fraser’s paintings are attentive investigations of perception. She doubts what she sees and applies what she knows generating physical constructions that are derived from natural systems. She avoids preconceived notions of art practice and relies on her intuitive responses to literature, the works of other artists and her own body to determine directions for her work. Fraser’s fascination with the perceptual realm stems from her condition of double vision which requires her to constantly search for focus of sight within the daily routine of living.
